Trauma Therapy Struggles With Wicked Substance Dependence on Their New Release, “Fix My Heart”

Can they break the toxic cycle?

With releases that combine the influence of real-life experiences with honest, transparent lyricism, rising metalcore act Trauma Therapy is poised to have one of the most exciting debuts of 2024.

Drawing inspiration from industry standouts like Bad Omens and Dayseeker, this Charlotte-based band aims to deliver gripping, visceral narratives that capture your imagination while still being grounded in reality. Fueled by passion, talent, and pure love for their art, you will want to watch these exciting talents.

Although Trauma Therapy is only now making their debut, their new release, “Fix My Heart,” has been in the works for a long time. Having worked with multiple renowned producers like Pangea Productions (Killakoi), Cody Weissinger (The Funeral Portrait), and Will Baker (Hollow Intent), among others, Trauma Therapy has lovingly and painstakingly workshopped and created their sound. Believing in their hearts that each member should be able to shine, Trauma Therapy’s releases are primed to be well-rounded and incredibly engaging.

Trauma Therapy frontman Chris Carrington describes his latest release, “Fix My Heart”, as “about real-life experience as a patient in therapy” as well as “everyday life outside the office—coping, healing, and the struggles that come with trauma.” It’s a fitting description in many ways; the band has always been upfront about their struggles and triumphs. Alternating between subdued and powerfully defiant, the instrumental performance ebbs and flows like crashing waves. Combined with lyrics like “Tell me is it chemical (it feels unbearable) / If it is, then I can’t let go / I’m so done with livin’ low,” Carrington and Trauma Therapy fully envelop you in their conflicted soundscape, making for a fully immersive listening experience.

Trauma Therapy’s latest release, “Fix My Heart,” sees the band channel their raw, personal battles with mental illness into a sound that resonates deeply with listeners.
