An eclectic, danceable collection of hip-hop, R&B, and pop flow into an exciting experience for the listener on Theresa's new release, "Kiss Kiss." The bubbly pop beats paired with Theresa's sweet and sassy vocals celebrates the excitement behind the title. We have all been there, that elusive person you have been crushing on, dreaming of a perfect moment to pucker up- and then, all at once it happens, romantic comedy screens flashing through your brain at warp speed, and they don't even compare because you have your crush right where you want them; at your lips. It's refreshing to hear such a fun and carefree song, and it transports us back to our junior high days where the shy emo guy you've been crushing on just made his move on you at the video dance in your school gymnasium.
Growing up in Long Island, Theresa has always dreamed of realizing her pop music aspirations. At the young age of 11, she began filling notebooks full of lyrics. After suffering a family tragedy during her formative year, she refocused her musical dreams and immersed herself within the industry. Her music infuses iconic '80s and '90s pop but stays current and lends her authenticity to her creations. The distorted, low synthetic beat pumping the track along is reminiscent of 80s Madonna beats. The vocals give characteristics of Stefani and Fergie, elevating it beyond your categorical bubble gum pop.
“Kiss Kiss” is a fun song to get stuck in your head, discover it for yourself here.

Hi Theresa, and welcome to BuzzMusic! Thank you for speaking with us on your new release “Kiss Kiss.” The song has such a happy vibe, perfect for the upcoming summer season. How are you feeling about the release and the finished piece?
Hey BuzzMusic! Thank you so much for having me. I am SOOOOO excited to be releasing Kiss Kiss. It’s got such an infectious groove and the lyrics are just so flirty and fun. To me, it sounds like THE summer song that you blast in the car - singing unapologetically - on the way to the beach with the windows down! It’s the perfect song for when you are crushing on someone and all you want to do is “kiss kiss” them!
What about the pop genre that has been so appealing to you throughout your life? Do you feel you embody any traits from the genre?
I shamelessly LOVE pop music. I love a catchy hook and a melody that gets stuck in my head for days. I’m really into pop songs that have honest lyrics which is why I am really attracted to artists that write their own lyrics like Madonna and Mariah Carey. While I was growing up listening to their music, I got a glimpse into what they were going through and was able to relate with their lyrics. Taylor Swift has a great way of expressing what she is feeling too. I am also a huge fan of Selena Gomez’s “Back To You”. That was written by the insanely talented songwriter, Amy Allen. THOSE LYRICS are everything. So raw and real.
What message do you want to deliver to your listeners when you compose a song?
I want my listeners to know that every song I write, it needs to come from my heart. Whenever or whatever I write, I need to feel those emotions. I need to feel that the story I am telling through my music is real and honest. Everything I put out into the world, it has to first come from within.
There is a drive within me - a little voice that tells me that I need to share these songs with other people to help inspire or help those going through a hard time. OR on the flip side to help celebrate the fun times and positive feelings too! Just like Madonna, Mariah, Taylor, and the other awesome artists I love and admire, I want to be that friend who you go to when you just need to be yourself. That friend who accepts you and loves you unconditionally.
How has your journey become an artist evolved throughout the years? Have you experienced any setbacks in your journey that posed a risk of moving forward and if so how did you power through it?
I make it no secret that I just turned 40 this past January. I had all these dreams of being a pop star but I suffered from low self-esteem when I was a kid and most of my adult life. As a young girl, I was chubby and loud and that combination didn’t help me win any love from the boys (and girls) in my class. I was constantly made fun of for being fat and ugly. But I continued to believe that one day I’d still make it. My high school years proved challenging, as my father was sick and my best friend battled cancer. Within the first three months of me moving to the city to attend school at Marymount Manhattan College, they both passed away. As hard as it was, I knew that I needed to keep on my journey for not only them but most importantly for me. Through the years that followed, I continued writing music and tried to find outlets to perform, but something didn’t feel right. I just didn’t have the confidence in myself to go further - and I was having great success as a music producer specializing in advertising that I just pushed my artist career aside.
It was about 18 months ago now that I reconnected with my music. I rediscovered my old songs and lyrics and really was proud of that past and knew that part of my journey was far from over. Now, the timing feels RIGHT. I have a ton of confidence in myself. I’ve done a lot of work on myself to get to this place. I truly believe that through any setback, if we continue to believe in ourselves, have faith that it will work out, and surround ourselves with supportive people, we can do anything we put our minds to. I try to remain focused on the now, knowing that I am putting in the work to make my dreams come true. I am not worried about how I will get there, because I have no doubt I will make it.
Thank you for joining us, Theresa! What can your fans anticipate next from you?
I’ve got SO much more to share. After Kiss Kiss, I have my next 2 singles planned. Doing a lot of collaborating with not only my good friends, Mike Cash + Jesse Blum but also with some new folks too which I am excited about. Hopefully, I will be able to get some live dates going as soon as it is safe to get back out there. To quote one of my upcoming singles, Marathon, “I won’t stop til I get to the top, and when I am on top, I will not stop!”. And that’s the honest truth.
