This past weekend, Los Angeles played host to a mouthwatering new tradition as Jameson Irish Whiskey and CHAIN came together to present The French Fry Showdown—a festive Pre-St. Patrick’s Day celebration at the CHAIN House. Attendees indulged in an all-you-can-eat French Fry extravaganza paired with signature Jameson Irish Whiskey cocktails, creating an immersive experience that was equal parts delicious and spirited.

The event saw partygoers take on the role of fry connoisseurs, sampling an array of expertly prepared French fries while sipping on specialty drinks such as the Jameson Minty MockRock Slushie. A lively competition added an extra layer of excitement, as attendees pitched their favorite fry to a panel of judges and rated each offering. As the night unfolded, the ultimate fry was crowned in front of an enthusiastic crowd, solidifying the showdown as a must-attend St. Patrick’s celebration.

The menu featured an extensive selection of French fry styles, from crispy shoestring fries cooked in beef tallow (a nod to McDonald’s iconic recipe) to crinkle-cut, waffle, curly, wedge, and tots. Guests also enjoyed a selection of mouthwatering sauces, including Jameson Irish Whiskey BBQ, black garlic ranch, cheese sauce, and a top-secret classified sauce. Seasoning options ranged from Hot Cheeto Dust and Sour Cream & Onion to BBQ and Cajun. For the true indulgent experience, an off-menu Animal Station and a Caviar & Crème Fraîche Station added an extra gourmet touch—paired perfectly with a custom French Fry Challenge x Jameson engraved ice luge.

To complement the fry feast, the Jameson Irish Whiskey Bar served up a curated selection of whiskey-based drinks designed to enhance the flavors of the evening. Highlights included the new Lucky Root (a canned Whiskey Root Beer made with Jameson), the Minty MockRock Slushie (a minty, vanilla Irish whiskey slushie), the Harvard J Wallbanger, and Nickel Pickle Backs (a can of Donna’s Pickle Beer with a shot of Jameson). For those opting for a non-alcoholic treat, the Pi Day mocktail—an apple pie-inspired beverage—was a crowd favorite. Jameson’s classic pairings, including Coca-Cola, were also on hand for a timeless whiskey experience.
