The World Alternative Music compilation record, rap edition, kicks off with "Magdamag," brought to you by rapper, producer, and Montreal-based beatmaker Imeh. The track bursts open with heavy synths and Imeh's melodic, bright vocals that set the passionate, uplifting tone. While blending the best of modern hip-hop with his native tongue, Imeh throws in elements of Latin hip-hop to keep the vibes high. It's an incredibly groovy song that kicks the album into full force.


In track number two, "Weekend," Imeh dives into a more feel-good atmosphere with the brightest synth arrangements and uplifting drums that create a truly refreshing hip-hop listening experience. It feels like the arrival of the long-awaited weekend, knowing you can kick back, relax, and soak in the good vibes with your favorite people by your side. It's a radiant and playful piece, perfectly showcasing Imeh's artistic versatility and talent.



On the album's third track, we meet Vince Amerika in his chilling single, "Mensahe," who wastes no time jumping into this introspective song from the very first beat. His flow is calming and poised, providing thought-provoking lyrics that challenge the listener to think twice. All while that's happening, he keeps the listener engaged with lush production and melodic flow, helping listeners understand his unique approach to hip-hop. It's a comforting song, and Vince Amerika's honest bars are the cherry on top.


Upping the groove and rhythm is track number four, "Watawat" by MXT FARii, infusing a dash of reggae into the album. The song quickly takes off with the sweetest rhythm and vibes, cracking open like the first ray of sun in the fresh morning air. MXT FARii's performance is truly engaging, commanding our attention with his rhythmic flow, groovy reggae production, sweet melodies, and message about his undying love for creating music that truly resonates with listeners.


Sending us into a dreamy hip-hop lullaby is Arczy-G with his hot single, "Lumang Duyan," which softly opens with a lush lullaby melody that later creeps into an ominous, mysterious, and haunting vibe. As the atmosphere darkens with the heaviness of modern hip-hop, Arczy-G takes the reins and commands our attention with his heated flow and cut-throat performance that keeps our eyes and ears peeled. It's an incredibly dynamic and engaging song that'll leave you ready for battle.


On track number six, we meet Toronto-based rapper and producer Third Iris with his hit, "Remedy," a truly exciting hip-hop piece that's equally engaging and beautiful. The production is top-tier, blending stunning melodies with soothing R&B drums alongside Third Iris' chilling vocals that keep the emotion running high. It's an incredibly passionate song that highlights Third Iris' impressive vocals, steamy flow, and impeccable production that brings the song full circle.


Keeping the fire burning is Flaming Skull Records with their track, "LB235 (feat. Apoc)." The boys waste no time in this track, jumping into the rhythm from the get-go with intensely groovy drums and their impressive flow, showcasing the finest blend of old-school hip-hop paired with the impressive bars of the modern music scene. Each verse and transition packs something unique, and it effortlessly keeps our attention locked in. It's a deeply engaging tune that must make its way to your hip-hop playlist.


Get ready to sink into pristine vibes as track number eight, "Don Band," explodes with epic instrumentals and Young John Q's poised, composed flow that draws our attention in deeper. It's not your average hip-hop song, but one that's infused with elements from various genres like rock and alternative to create something entirely new and refreshing. It's heavy on the instrumentals, reminiscent of OFWGKTA, and packed with energy to create a cinematic listening experience like no other. This might just be our favorite track on the album.


Moving onto track nine, "Damahin," we meet the serene vibes of rapper and producer J-Coasta, who sweetens the speakers with his lush, sonically delicious vocals that float through the speakers beautifully. His instrumentals and gentle production perfectly back up the song's passionate, soothing feel, and it's the perfect dynamic addition to such a diverse rap album. He effortlessly locks our attention with beautiful lyrics and melodies, ending the song on an emotional yet vibrant note.


J-Coasta continues the passionate theme with track ten, "Let Me Know," which softly opens with gentle percussion and soft background synths alongside his layered, breathy vocals. While expressing to be let into someone's life and emotions, J-Coasta jumps into a spirited flow alongside groovy hip-hop production to up the vibes into a serene, chilling listening experience. This song is loaded with genuine emotion and perfectly highlights J-Coasta's ability to paint such surreal scenes in the listener's mind.


On the album's eleventh track, we meet the groovy and intense stylings of Milwaukee-based rapper and producer Alan Ward on "Picasso." This track is instantly one of our favorites on the record - kicking off with a lo-fi meets old-school vibe alongside his reflective and alluring bars. Listening to this song is effortless; it's packed with rhythm and keeps our heads bopping from top to bottom. While Alan Ward makes some personal confessions, he ends the song with maximum groove and rhythm to make a mark on listeners.


In the twelfth track, also from Alan Ward, "Roxanne," we hear a heavier side of the artist who pounces through the speakers with power and authority. While the rich hip-hop beat continues thumping through the speakers on a darker, more intense note, Alan Ward keeps the vibes high and mighty with his rhythmic flow and powerful bars that showcase immense tenacity and grit. It's a killer song from a talented artist who understands how to create banger after banger, as experienced in both tracks.


Landing on the album's thirteenth and final track, "Sundan," we're met with the soothing and lush stylings of Saskatoon-based rapper and producer C.P Music. This beautiful song is the perfect outro track, blessing listeners with a relaxing acoustic guitar melody and gentle keys alongside soft percussion and C.P Music's calming, emotion-rich vocals. While unleashing his passionate lyrics, he effortlessly closes the song on a refreshing, uplifting note while sending listeners into a loving sonic daydream.
