Soaring in from Byron Bay, Australia, singer-songwriter and grunge recording artist SNOW unleashes her latest gripping and anthemic single, "LA."
The badass recording artist has been actively writing music and performing her exciting tunes around Australia with support from acts like The Cops, Expatriate, The Church, Guttermouth, King Parrot, WAAX, and more. Recently signing with Rock Box Records in San Francisco, SNOW is eager to share her forthcoming tunes with fans in her homeland and overseas.
Now dropping her flaming hot single, "LA," SNOW also released a classic punk-rock music video to enhance the song's passion and energy. While SNOW struts her way around Byron Bay's cold winter night with nothing else but jeans, a t-shirt, a leather jacket, and her guitar in hand, she grabs our attention with her high energy performance.
"Inspired by an affair in LA, I wrote a love song about the experience of meeting someone who lives on the other side of the world," wrote SNOW. Taking a listen to "LA," The song kicks off with an upbeat drum arrangement which then launches into a riveting punk-rock instrumental. The feel-good sonics are later greeted with SNOW's sassy and passionate vocals.
While she sings of feeling lovesick and yearning to go back to her lover in LA, the accompanying instrumentals back SNOW up with all the attitude and passion we could ask for. This track feels as though it's straight out of the pop-punk-rock era of the early 00s, and we couldn't be more thrilled with such a familiar and exciting sound.

Welcome to BuzzMusic SNOW. We adore the fiery and anthemic feel of your latest lively release, "LA." Could you describe the moment you felt compelled to write this passionate and exciting single?
I was in a really bad situation at the time. I had a moped accident which left me bedridden for months. The only thing that got me through was my passion for music. During this time, I wrote a bunch of songs, one of which was LA. The song was written for someone with who I had a romance when I was visiting my sister in California. He left quite an impression on me, so I wrote the song and sent it to him as a voice memo. He replied, "YES." I'm a hopeless romantic, and that often comes across in my songwriting. I never intended for LA to become my first single, but as other people heard the song, I realized that there was something very special about it.
What was it like collaborating with the jam-packed team on deck for your recent single, "LA?" How did they help bring the song to life?
The moment I played the song to my producer Dave Dogg Atkins, he got really excited about it! That was the first time Dave and I worked together, and we realized that we had a very special musical connection. LA transformed from being just a voice memo to the fiery anthem that it is now in only a few hours. I passed the song onto my brother-in-law Shea Roberts, who is a mastering engineer and also owned a record company called Rock Box Records in San Francisco. He loved the song and signed me to the label! Every person involved in the making of LA was passionate about the song and put a lot of love and heart into the production of the single. I believe that really comes across when you listen to the song.
How does the music video for "LA" enhance the song's theme and vibe? Do you feel that these late-night shots around the city helped get your message across?
I wanted to film the song at night because I felt it gave the image of a dark grunge cityscape, similar to PJ Harvey's Good Fortune, which is a very big influence on me as a female frontwoman and artist. We chose Lismore as our location due to its visual similarities to downtown LA. We chose interesting backdrops, such as the street art and the dark alleys, to send the message across. LA is about loving someone from afar and feeling empty and alone. The scenes that we shot really enforced these emotions.
How did you want to make the listener feel with "LA?" What impact did you want the song to make on your audience?
I wanted to connect with my audience through the universal emotion of love and loss, which is something that we can all relate to. I also wanted to send the message of hope; even if things seem impossible, you always have hope. I believe that the best songs ever written are about love, Joy Division 'Love Will Tear Us Apart,' New Order' Bizarre Love Triangle,' John Lennon 'All you need is love,' PJ Harvey 'This is Love.' I could go on, but I think you get where I'm coming from.
What's next for you?
I've been busy getting ready for my next release and rehearsing with my band so we can start touring as soon as things open up here in Australia. I will be dropping my next single, 'Snitch,' and the rest of my EP in 2022.
