Los Angeles native Robin Harris Jr. (RHJ) is the kind of artist that will mesmerize you. As a predominant rap/hip-hop artist, RHJ feeds his musical creations with absolute honesty and passion. You can feel the love he has for music, and it completely surges off any of his tracks. We can't even urge this enough when we say that we found a rap artist devout to telling his life story through his tracks. We can feel the raw vulnerability RHJ brings to his tracks, and we feel ultimately connected with him artistically. His tracks are an experience, as most great songs are, and RHJ has no problem sharing his inert hardships with listeners, which makes for a truly honest artist. RHJ's latest track: "Gas".

Hey there RHJ! Welcome to BuzzMusic, and congratulations on the release of "Gas"! Do you feel that "Gas" was ultimately executed in the way you initially envisioned?
Thank you for having me & giving me the platform. I feel that GAS was executed the right way. When I first recorded my vocals I knew the record had potential, but when Hipi Blvq & Jairus Mozee added their sauce to the record I knew we had something special. I was confident In ShootsBlayr & ErrolJay to execute my vision for the visual & they nailed it. That record was created organically so to see the type of positive feedback it’s been getting has been great so far.
We could definitely feel the raw intensity behind "Gas". There was an underlying impactful message integrated within the track, and we're wondering if you'd be able to share your intentions with "Gas" with our readers?!
Sure! Like I said “GAS” was created organically. I had recently just finished reading a book titled “Ego is the Enemy” by Ryan Holiday which helped inspired the record. One of the main things I took from the book was how our own ego can get in our way from being successful & the importance of being able to recognize that. I love music that I can drive too and GAS was definitely one of those records. I randomly came up with “watch em Gas me up, but don’t gas me up” meaning I can sense that people are going to hype me up due to recent accomplishments but don’t pump up my ego; I’m just doing what I’m supposed to do. I just created it based on how I felt at the time.
How do you feel living in Los Angeles impacts your musical career? Do you feel that LA feeds your passion for music more than any other location could?
I feel living in LA definitely impacts your musical career. It’s so much opportunity & a great market for people to come chase their dream & make something happen. I do feel that LA feeds my passion more simply because LA is home. I have so many memories & experiences growing up in Los Angeles and I feel that it reflects in my music. I used to take LA for granted but now that I’ve been blessed to travel I understand how blessed I am to be from the city of angels pursuing a career in music and entertainment.
Tell us how your performances feel when you're up on stage! We imagine the crowds' energy is surging!
I’ve been told that my live shows are a unique vibe for a Hip-Hop artist. One of my favorite things to do is to perform & when I hit the stage I turn into a whole different beast. I’m all about the vibes & spreading good energy whether it’s with a band or DJ.
Thanks for sharing your new track "Gas" with our listeners! We hope to see future music from you! What's the next step in your career now that you've just released a new single?
Thank you! The feedback for Gas has been amazing and I thank you for blessing me with a platform to showcase my music.
Be on the lookout for more music coming from me & the AOE Camp in the future. I’m expecting to play more live shows and to release another full-length project in 2020. As of now, the single “GAS” is out, alongside my most recent bodies of work CLOUD 9 EP & The Legacy Continues (available on all streaming platforms).
