Prepare For a Dynamic Experience With ellie d. in "Better"

February 21 | BuzzMusic

Singer/songwriter ellie d. is delivering her most recent electro/pop single right here on BuzzMusic. As a Southern California native, ellie d. is inspired by the life around her, subsequently deriving her sound from her own personal experiences. Music has always been a staple within ellie d.'s life, and she's taken the time to really channel her inner passion for music in order to create, record, and release the singles we hear from her today. Having influences ranging from Fleetwood Mac to Red Hot Chilli Peppers, ellie d. is on track to make her own space within the music industry for her eccentrically soft sound.

"Better" has been recently released by ellie d. The song presents intricate thoughts involving love, and the emotional hardships that accompany these events. Artistically, ellie d. offers a light and airy vocal performance that suggests a sense of innocence to "Better". Being intricately woven together, the vocal tendencies of ellie d. mesh well with the production, and overall rhythm presented in "Better". The song offers a variety of twists. One moment we're exposed to an atmospheric and delicate melody, and the next we're offered a more intensified, electronic sound. We're intrigued to see where ellie d. takes her sound next with her future music.

Listen to "Better" here.

Hey, ellie d.! Welcome back to BuzzMusic! As a singer/songwriter who's debuting music, how do you feel now that your own authentic pieces of work are released for any and all listeners?

Hi Buzz Music! Putting my own work out into the world is definitely scary and makes me feel vulnerable, but it is also incredibly exciting! I hope that people can relate to the music and become inspired to share their own stories.

What were your primary intentions with "Better"? As an artist who channels her own personal life experiences in order to create their sound, do you feel "Better" extracted the majority of its inspiration from these experiences?

Yes! “Better” was inspired by the real experiences I have had. I think many people can relate to having those tempting thoughts late at night, especially when you are out. It’s good to be self-aware and know that you still may have feelings, but it probably is not the best idea to act on them. Sometimes you may really want to text that person or go and see them even when you know it is bad news. I wrote “Better” because it certainly is something I am still working on, but I am getting better at it...haha.

We've heard that you grew up around a heavy rock influence. Do you feel that as a subject of constant rock influence in your early years, your music now is subsequently shaped?

I do love rock music! I love how versatile it is. Sometimes I listen to it driving with the windows down or I jam out and dance to it. Other times, it’s nighttime music I listen to in my room to wind down. I do believe it has shaped the way I write music because I want my music to have a range. I want people to be able to dance and have fun or listen to it during quieter moments in their day.

When you take a moment to truly stop and really think about what your primary intent is within the industry, what is it you hope to create with your sound?

I want to share my inner thoughts and stories from my life, while hopefully creating relatable music for people.

Thank you for talking with us ellie d. Do you have any announcements you'd like to share? We can't wait to hear what's coming next from you!

Of course! Thank you for having me! There is a bunch of new music in the works, I’ll just say that.
