Welcome to BuzzMusic! Tell us a bit more about yourself and how you got your start in music.
I’m Kasper and I’m a 21-year-old artist from the little country in Europe called Denmark.
I started playing the guitar and piano when I was 9 years old and I began to write my first songs about whatever I saw, heard and experienced at that time. I started to play my first gigs at the local school with a band I was in, and I knew at that time this was the thing I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I’ve been playing gigs around DK, on upcoming festivals, small Venues, and clubs, and from that, I’ve been learning a lot about how to perform, talk to the audience and of course play gigs where only a small group of people shows up and still try to a accomplish a show and to keep my head up. But last year in 2019 I felt I was ready to release my music, and it felt right that my first single “Twentyfour/Seven” was an acoustic record because that’s been me with a guitar and my voice since I was a little kid.
The sound I’m doing now in 2020 is modern R&B inspired and a place where I’m feeling very inspired and really can see myself. I feel that I can mix that with my old “Singer-songwriter” style and create a sound with some nice melodies and a nice bouncy beat. I will like my songs to be those you can chill to in your car but also can bounce to Friday night.
What inspired you to write “Grl Why U only Txt Me When U Drnk”?
The idea of the song came from an experience with an old friend of mine. We were good friends and I maybe got some feelings for her. I felt like she knew that and played me around, and that got me crazy because I didn’t know what to do. On the day she was ignoring me but every weekend around 4 am she typically called me up and told me “why are We just friends”.
So yeah. I felt she only liked me when she was a little tipsy, haha, and that’s not what I’m gonna use my time on.
Why is it so important to you that your music reflects who you are?
It’s important for me because I want to give a picture of my life and what’s going on through my music. It’s like meditation every time I’m sitting in the studio and create beats, lyrics, and melodies.
What can we expect from you in 2020?
In 2020 I’m gonna release songs with a new sound I’ve been working on. The first song is out this spring. I can’t wait to show this new vibe and to perform my new songs. I’m also working on a collab with another artist. The song title and feature will be published soon! I’ve dedicated my whole life to music and I can’t see myself working with other than that. 2020 is just the beginning.
