Musician Thomas Orlina Is Being Considered For A Grammy

Thomas Orlina, the multi-hyphenate recording artist who’s captured audiences on YouTube with his hit reality show-style series, “Your Time With Thomas,” is one of the 3% of musicians in the world being considered for a Grammy nomination at the 67th annual Grammy Awards.

His track, “Tell Me Your Name,” was submitted and is one of the choices for the “Best Dance Pop Recording” category. The song was released earlier this year in honor of AAPI month, a true testament to his passion and advocacy, specifically within the Filipino American, AAPI, and LGBTQIA+ communities.

Mental health is another social issue that Thomas has championed over the last several years. Sharing his story with The Advocate, his vulnerability showcasing how important it is to check on your mental health has solidified him as a trailblazer whose music is self-described as “pop with a purpose.”

Born in Los Angeles, CA, Thomas Orlina has a deep sense of direction with his music and overall brand. His vocals have captivated audiences worldwide, and one of his many goals is to champion the Filipino community further. “Given this opportunity of a lifetime, I want to represent the people in the Philippines and all Filipinos worldwide. There is so much talent in our country and within our community, and I hope this recognition of being considered for the Grammy Awards reflects that.” Orlina says.

The song is considered a dance-pop track that was created by queer LA-based songwriter Christopher Bugna, who is on the rise himself. Bugna collaborated on Orlina’s sophomore single, “Journey,” which was featured in Forbes

Thomas is heading to Hawaii, where he will perform a medley of his hits at an award ceremony in Honolulu. Fans are eager to see what will happen next with Thomas’ illustrious career, and we can’t wait to cheer him on during Grammy voting season, which begins October 4.
