Malexes Goes Back to His Original Roots in “Way to the Moon”

At only 25 years old, Malexes has made quite the name for himself. Currently signed to seven international record labels, has appeared on multiple radio stations, and had his music on a Netflix original TV show. Malexes is taking the world by storm. Originally from Munich Germany, he is a self-taught composer who combines pop and dance genres for a fun and upbeat style. He has released numerous popular tracks including “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” feat. Leon Miller, “We Need To Get Free”, and “Way To The Moon”, which has been his most successful release yet.

“Way To The Moon” is a catchy pop/dance track that is sure to get stuck in your head. The song starts with a simple melody that’s repeated throughout the track. As the song progresses towards the chorus, more and more layers are added to build on top of the original melody and it really pulls you in. This layering adds dimension and complexity to the track. The verses quickly switch back to that simpler catchy melody to give the song contrast and keep your attention. With an album release set for March and songs and albums that have charted in various countries, we foresee big things in Malexes future.

Listen to "Way To The Moon" here.

Welcome to BuzzMusic Malexes! Can you tell us a bit about how you got your start in the music industry and how you went about teaching yourself how to compose and produce? Hey BuzzMusic, thanks for having me! I’ve started off in the industry by creating mixtapes and mashups when I was 16 years old. When I turned 18 I used to DJ a lot in Germany, Austria, and Italy. I’ve also played piano concerts since I was six so technically I was affected by music very early and it was always my dream to release my own original songs.

Your newest single “Way To The Moon” is supposed to be your biggest release so far. What does this song mean to you?

The song really means a lot to me. I really tried to get back to my original sound and roots with it. I started producing piano dance tracks back in 2012 and wanted to create something similar genre-wise again. Unfortunately, I’ve never worked on music as a full-time job in my life, just in my free time. But it always helped me so much to make it through difficult situations. That's one of the reasons why creating music means so much to me. I’m very thankful, that people like the track. I love the combination of the male and female vocal on this one and the different moods it reflects.

What can we expect from your upcoming full-length album? (laughs) I mean I say this every time. But its gonna be the best piece of music I’ve ever created. The album will be pop all the way. With a lot of different vocalists from all over the world. I am really proud of it and can’t wait to reveal it.

What's next for Malexes throughout 2020? Of course, the release of the new album is what I mainly focus on right now. It really gets me pumped thinking and talking about it. Really enjoyed talking to you by the way and I hope we can sit down again to review the new album in spring.
