Lizzie Hosking Talks About Her Latest Release, "Energy"

Adelaide’s own rising star. Lizzie Hosking has emerged as a tremendous talent in the music scene, captivating audiences with her catchy melodies and enchanting storytelling.

Growing up in the North of Adelaide, Lizzie’s passion for music blossomed as she sang covers and fearlessly took every opportunity to perform, honing her skills as an artist and performer. Having started off 2023 strongly with her acclaimed release “Stress You Out,” she’s following up her amazing start to the year with another enticing release, “Energy.”

Welcome to BuzzMusic, Lizzie Hosking! We loved “Stress You Out”; between that and “Energy,” you’ve been killing it this year! We wanted to ask you, what inspired “Energy”? Was the inspiration something that came from your personal experience?

Thank you so much! Energy was written about the electric and magnetic feeling you get toward a complete stranger. Whether that be on a night out with friends, dancing in a club, or the only person your age on an airplane. Feeling a connection with a stranger is something we can all relate to, and Energy captures that feeling.

What kind of music did you see yourself making when you first started out? Is the music you put out now different or pretty much what you first envisioned yourself making?

When I first started writing and releasing music, I didn't have a complete vision or idea of where I wanted to go. Over the years, my writing style has developed to suit my own listening style in music. I think I am almost at a place where the music I am putting out is authentically me.

What part of the creative process for your music is your favorite? Also, what does music mean to you?

I would describe my music as hard-hitting, soul-searching, truth-telling pop songs. My music is high-energy and will get stuck in your head!

What’s next for Lizzie Hosking? Can we expect to hear more new music soon, and is there anything you want to say to your fans?

I am hopping back into my favorite place next week, the recording studio! To record my newest single and will soon be recording a Christmas EP to be released towards the end of the Year. I am also playing a few gigs in the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
