"Blindfolded" is such a powerful debut. Can you walk us through the moment of realization that inspired you to write this song and embrace your solo career?
For the past 5-6 years, I lived in Berlin and worked as a songwriter. At first, it was thrilling—the city, signing a publishing deal, collaborating with talented artists, and writing almost every day. It was inspiring but also overwhelming. Turning my passion into a profession felt like a dream, but as time passed, I began drifting away from the core reason I started music in the first place: to express myself authentically. The more I immersed myself in the industry, the more I focused on commercial success—pitching songs to big artists and trying to meet quotas rather than focusing on genuine creativity.
It wasn't until I found myself in writing sessions where the goal was simply to churn out as many songs as possible that my inner voice began to cry out. I realized I had lost touch with the pure, honest creativity that had initially driven me. "Blindfolded" was born from the need to reconnect with my true purpose: to create music that's authentic, personal, and meant to make people feel something, not just follow trends.
You've spent years writing for others and working under different aliases. How did stepping into the spotlight as your authentic self change your creative process and approach to music?
Stepping into the spotlight as my authentic self has completely transformed my approach to music. Before, when writing for others, I would immerse myself in their perspective—thinking about how they would feel, what their voice should convey, and what kind of lyrics would suit their image.
Now, the focus is solely on my own emotions and experiences. This shift allows me to create music that's deeply personal and true to who I am. Even when I released music under different aliases, it was often in collaboration with other artists, which meant my sound was shaped by multiple influences. This time, I'm able to fully embrace my own style, my voice, and my unique perspective without compromise.
The song reflects a deep journey of self-discovery and breaking free from external expectations. What was the most challenging part of that process for you, both personally and artistically?
The most challenging part was having full creative control over everything—from the song itself to the visuals and overall aesthetic. In past collaborations, there were always compromises, as I wasn't the sole artist. For "Blindfolded," I had to take full ownership of every decision. This meant spending a lot of time reflecting alone, asking myself tough questions about who I really am, what I want to say, and how I want to express myself through my art. It required me to dive deep into my emotions, to be vulnerable, and to let go of external expectations.
This process didn't just evolve my music—it helped me evolve as a person, and that's one of the most fulfilling aspects of this journey. I feel liberated, and I'm excited to share this new side of myself with the world. I also wanted to teach myself new skills to be even more hands-on, so now I also directed and edited my own music video for 'Blindfolded.' This added layer of involvement has been incredibly empowering, and it's something I'm really proud of.
"Blindfolded" has already resonated with listeners who find strength in its message. What has been the most meaningful response you've received so far?
I've received many heartwarming messages, but one that truly stood out said, "Your music has that incredible way of lifting spirits, and your lyrics are so beautifully profound." That really touched me because it's exactly what I hope to achieve with my music. I want my songs to make people feel something—whether it's deep and introspective, pushing them to grow, or light and uplifting, helping them feel lighter. To hear that my music is having that effect on others is the most rewarding part of this journey. It's proof that I'm on the right path.
Having worked with major labels and secured high-profile sync deals, why did you choose the independent route for your solo project, and what excites you most about this path?
Having worked with major labels and secured high-profile sync deals, why did you choose the independent route for your solo project, and what excites you most about this path?
The independent route gives me the full creative control I've always craved. While working with different labels and doing so many collaborations with other artists and DJs was a valuable experience, I started feeling like my artistic vision was being compromised. By choosing to go independent, I'm able to stay true to my authentic self, make decisions based on my own values, and connect with my audience in a more personal way. What excites me most about this path is the freedom it offers.
I can release music when it feels right for me, express myself fully, and build my career on my terms—without any outside pressure to conform to trends or industry expectations. This autonomy is incredibly empowering, and it's what makes this chapter so exciting.
