Jàlâl Aljuwaie Weaves A Cautionary Tale Of Toxic Romances On His New Release “Hate That You Love Me”

The talented singer-songwriter shows that love is complicated in his gripping new release.

Born and raised in the United States, singer-songwriter Jàlâl Aljuwaie is an artist with a rich heritage, with parents from Puerto Rico and Saudi Arabia. From a young age, Jalal took his diverse upbringing to heart and displayed a keen creative spirit, beginning his musical journey early by learning to play the piano at the age of eight.

However, it was in his high school years that theatre school would trigger his artistic awakening as he discovered the transformative power of music and its ability to heal the soul. On a mission to spread good vibes and positivity through quality music, we're rooting for this talented musician and burgeoning star.

In 2017, Aljuwaie experienced a life-altering event by losing his best friend. This profound loss shifted his perspective, leading him to dedicate his life to helping others heal through the power of his artistry, and the rest, as they say, is history. He's set himself apart from his peers with his ability to connect with listeners emotionally, drawing you in with transparent lyrics that hide nothing and paint vivid pictures. After his acclaimed studio debut, "Cheers to You," marked the beginning of his musical career, he continued to refine his sound further and further, elevating an already standout listening experience.

Continuing to push his artistic boundaries, Aljuwaie's latest release, "Hate That You Love Me," sees the artist weave a cautionary tale of a toxic romance. Over instrumentals that channel hints of R&B and pop to set a sad stage, Aljuwaie takes you on a thrilling musical journey. Dropping lyrics like "Hate that you love me / Hard to picture yourself without me" and "When I think of you, honey, suckles melt on my tongue," Aljuwaie is torn by this twisted love. The follow-up to his release "Safe Space" and "Hate That You Love Me" show Aljuwaie's artistic maturity and prove his creative brilliance is more than just a flash in the pan.

Jàlâl Aljuwaie's musical journey has been about personal growth, resilience, and brilliance. Whenever you're ready, tap in and stream his new release, "Hate That You Love Me," available on all major streaming platforms.

Welcome to BuzzMusic, Jàlâl Aljuwaie! We loved "Hate That You Love Me," what an attention-grabbing new release! What was the inspiration behind this song? Were you drawing from personal experience?

Thanks! This song is about a friend who started to catch feelings for me but couldn't understand their identity. I even told this person about my feelings towards him - they told me I was crazy but continued to hang out with me and even went to a wedding with me in Vegas as my wedding date.

What does music mean to you, and what's your favorite part about being able to release your music?

Music to me means everything. It's not only an outlet for me to express myself freely but also therapy and a release of whatever emotions I may not be able to process vocally. Music is also a dopamine release. Music is so important to our world. My favorite part about releasing music is knowing that someone in the world may be able to connect to one of my songs.

Coming from such a diverse background, what were your musical influences like? Were there any artists you looked up to growing up?

I grew up with my dad playing the loot. I also grew up in Saudi Arabia for a bit in my younger years, so you will hear a lot of middle eastern influence in my music alongside my mother's side, which is my Latin roots. I looked up to Myriam Farris, Gloria Estefan, Elvis Crespo, the temptations, patsy cline, Johnny Cash, Prince, Shakira, and Freddie Mercury; there were many more.

What would you want it to be if your listeners could take one thing away from your music?

I'm very private, but when it comes to my music, I put all of my feelings and past experiences into it, emotionally and lyrically.

What's next for Jalal Aljuwaie? Your new single "Consequences" drops soon, too, right? Anything you want to say to your fans?

Yes, my following single consequence comes out on July 28th. Very excited for this new sound to come out. Consequences is a raw, gritty sound I haven't ever experimented with. There are so many emotions in this song. Stay tuned for more because this is just a waterfall in the works. Very excited for the next two years of my musical journey.
