Although she excelled in her classical Indian music training, 22-year-old singer-songwriter Jzzy has always loved pop music.
Inspired by Miley Cyrus’s highly iconic Hannah Montana persona, Jazzy began experimenting a little, trying out different styles before cultivating her fresh and exciting pop-based sound. Also drawing artistic inspiration from Montana’s ability to inspire and entertain, Jzzy’s goal as a musician has always been creating music that could empower others, just as she felt listening to her pop records growing up.
Fittingly, Jzzy’s passion and talent for the arts don’t stop with music. Although she wrote the lyrics for her latest release, “TIK TIK BOOM,” she didn’t stop there. Jzzy also created the cover art herself! The cover art for “TIK TIK BOOM” saw Jzzy transforming herself into an intergalactic superhero, a visual metaphor for the song’s themes of a love that can transcend even the stars! As is probably obvious by now, Jzzy puts every ounce of herself into her releases; the pure, unadulterated love and excitement she approaches her releases with is definitely something that will resonate with listeners the world over.

Welcome to Buzz, Jzzy! We loved your new release, “TIK TIK BOOM. " Every single note had us holding our breath! We wanted to ask: You co-wrote this song with your boyfriend, right? What was it like finally hearing the completed version?
When I wrote TIK TIK BOOM with my boyfriend, it was just an acoustic song. Then it went from that to a complete bass-driven banger cooler than I could’ve imagined, so I was obviously so excited!!
What do you want your fans to feel when they hear your music?
I want my fans to feel empowered and comforted when they listen to my music, knowing that they aren’t the only ones feeling the way they do.
What’s your fondest music-related memory?
When I was in the 3rd grade, I remember the excitement of being on stage for the first time and winning first place in my first singing competition at school! Then, I obsessively kept drawing and designing stage outfits for myself, haha.
What do you think is the most important quality for a musician to have?
To create without trying to fit in some box. To create however they want, follow no rules, and be as experimental as they desire. I guess that’s why I love K-pop and Bollywood so much! It’s just crazy!
What’s next for Jzzy, and is there anything you’d like to say to your fans?
I’m working on a bunch of new music that’s more acoustic and more vulnerable. I’ve recently concluded that everything I create is to make my inner child happy, make her feel understood, and bring her dreams to life. I’m really just revisiting my roots growing up in India right now. I might even have an EP come out soon! But I’m so excited to share these stories!
