Jiggy Bars Builds His Empire With New Album, "Reconstruction"

Rising star Jiggy Bars drops his highly anticipated album Reconstruction, a powerful testament to his growth as an artist and individual.

Known for his ability to connect with crowds and unite fellow artists, Jiggy Bars has been making waves in the music scene since 2019. This former athlete turned musician has proven his versatility through a string of successful singles that blend hip-hop, rap, pop, and R&B, showcasing his playful side and deeper, more reflective nature.

With Reconstruction, Jiggy Bars takes listeners on an 8-track journey through his personal and artistic evolution. The album serves as a musical blueprint of his life, touching on self-discovery, family, and societal issues.

The album kicks off with "All in My Head," an interlude-type track featuring an intimate father-to-son voicemail. It immediately pulls listeners into Jiggy's world with introspective words and a captivating beat. "The Rise" follows, showcasing Jiggy's knack for crafting motivational anthems that stick with you long after the song ends. He's letting go of thoughts and feelings that no longer serve him for the sake of rising onward and upward.

"Broken Smiles" offers a more vulnerable side of the artist, with raw emotions poured over a melodic backdrop. But it doesn't take long for the beat to drop and flames to smoke through our speakers. Midway through the album, "Family Business" stands out as a heartfelt tribute to Jiggy's roots, while "Blackness," featuring Chairman Allen, delivers a powerful message about identity and pride.

"Unspoken Thoughts" is a lyrical catharsis, with Jiggy bearing his soul over a haunting instrumental. As the album nears its conclusion, "Working on Myself" emerges as one of our favorite tracks. It perfectly embodies the project's theme of personal growth and reconstruction while sonically serenading us with a sweet, catchy beat.

The project closes with "Flow," featuring Nova Gholar, a high-energy collaboration that showcases Jiggy's versatility and leaves listeners wanting more. It's a heavenly, sweet-sounding experience that serves us some hot R&B stylings to close the album with impeccable vibes.

Welcome back to Buzz, Jiggy Bars! We're loving the personal growth journey in Reconstruction. What inspired you to create such an introspective album?

This album was inspired by my growth and life transitions—becoming a father and getting into a new career. I fully embrace myself and my journey, not skipping over the hard things in life. A motto that I live by as an artist is you cannot separate your life from your art, meaning that my life is my art, and that's how I view it. This album dug deep into who I am as a man in this beautiful struggle we call life.

Which song from Reconstruction is your personal favorite and why? Can you tell us more about what that song means to you?

It's really hard to choose a favorite, but I would have to go with Family Business. I felt like the song was so powerful, having my daughter's vocals on it. I'll always be able to look back at that moment, but the delivery and passion behind my lyrics make the song resonate with others.

We love your collaboration with Chairman Allen on "Blackness." How did this partnership come about, and what was your main goal with this song?

Chairman Allen is my blood brother. We've been making music together since 2015. My main goal for the song was to express my cultural awareness and also bring real hip-hop vibes. I already knew my brother Allen would bring the perfect energy! I also got the perfect voiceover for the intro and outro by my brother Lucky XL.

How is Reconstruction different from your 7-track 2023 album, Veracity?

Veracity was the spiritual awakening! Reconstruction is the application Veracity was super revolutionary, and that album was created during my journey working with Healthy Hood Chicago. Reconstruction was a year-long process, and I applied so many things I learned to my own life and family, fully embracing my past, present, and future. The lyrics matured, and I emotionally tapped into a deep place and took listeners on a ride in reconstruction. I felt like I took the time to perfect my craft, and I sat with these songs for a long time, knowing the album would be incredible. Reconstruction also took it to the next level regarding production, storytelling, and features.

As a community architect in the music scene, how do you hope Reconstruction will impact your listeners and fellow artists?

I hope reconstruction will inspire creatives to set a standard with their art. I hope my vulnerability will motivate others to do so with their art. I hope this album proves you can make good, catchy, fun music that slaps while still talking about real-life situations and triumphs. Music doesn't have to be dumbed down, and it shouldn't be, we need art like this for the culture for the young boys and girls that fall victim of a toxic culture that promotes all the wrong things.
