Welcome to the BuzzMusic community Halle! Are you able to share with our readers what first got you passionate about music?

Thanks for having me! I've been humming, singing and playing piano since before I can remember. When I was young, my mom told me to pick a sport and an instrument- so I chose piano and taekwondo. I'd hum when I played piano and my piano teacher brought this to my moms attention, who encouraged me to start taking vocal lessons.

"Makes Me Bleed" hit us to our very core with your vocal performance. Do you find it comes effortlessly to fill your voice with such passion and rigor?

Thank you! Makes Me Bleed is a special record to me because it perfectly encapsulates what I was feeling during this particular heartbreak, so I found it easy to convey the emotions I was feeling through my voice.

As a song that captures the very pinnacle of heartbreak, was it hard for you to write/record "Makes Me Bleed"?!

It was definitely hard to write Makes Me Bleed, especially in the early stages. The idea of the song came to me when I was just coming out of the most painful stage in my heartbreak. Since it was coming from a place of such raw emotion, it was easy to get the words out. The recording process was easier for me since the song was recorded sometime after I had initially written it, but I was still able to tap into the pain I felt when the breakup was first unfolding.

Do you feel that your music is an accurate depiction of your life? Do you feel ultimately connected to your listeners through your music?

My music is a perfect representation of who I am as an artist. My songs come from a pure and honest place and I hope that others can listen along and understand and relate to where I'm coming from. I feel incredibly connected to the people who listen to my music, and I love to hear which one of my songs somebody likes most. Each one of my records thus far has come from a different place of my heart and I can generally get an idea of somebody's background and the type of music they like to listen to based off of which one of my songs they like the most. Specifically, Makes Me Bleed is a story that I think many can relate to. It's an age-old story of heartbreak and betrayal, something I think most of us can relate to. Ultimately, my goal is to make music that people can find themselves in and feel recognized. I know personally how it feels to be alone. I hope that my music can reach people who feel the same way that I do so that they can feel less alone.

Can you describe how your performances feel? Do you enjoy live shows, or do you prefer the actual songwriting process? Also, any live shows coming up in the near future?!

Performing on a stage has become something that I have learned to love with all of my heart. I first started performing when I was really young, and I've learned how to be vulnerable onstage throughout the years. I could get addicted to the exhilaration I feel when I'm performing live, but I also enjoy the process of being able to sit down and pour my heart out on paper.

I'm planning on performing in Los Angeles in the coming months! Specific dates will be announced soon.

Stay tuned with the latest on Halle's music and upcoming shows via her Instagram!
