Francis Wolfe is no ordinary artist, and his latest release, Nightfall, is no ordinary EP.

If you’re a fan of bass-heavy beats, retro synths, and lyrics that straddle the line between introspection and swagger, you’re in for a treat. Wolfe, whose style blends trap with a splash of Synth Pop and Trance, delivers an audacious project that’s equal parts moody and magnetic.

First, let’s talk about the vibe of Nightfall. It’s not just an EP; it’s an experience. The songs are poetic streams of consciousness that feel like flipping through the pages of Wolfe’s private journal—if that journal were set to bouncy drums and hypnotic synths. Thematically, Nightfall tackles secret romance, unfiltered ambition, and Wolfe’s unapologetic taste for high fashion.

Think of it as a runway show where the models walk to the beat of heavy bass drops and retro-futuristic melodies. The standout quality here is Wolfe’s ability to marry experimental sounds with undeniable authenticity. His lyrics oscillate between vulnerability and confidence, creating a dichotomy that keeps you hooked.

One moment, you’re swaying to Wolfe’s musings on faith and relentless passion; the next, you’re nodding along to his flex about life’s luxuries. It’s introspection with a side of swagger.

After a two-year hiatus spent building the apparel line and movement Howlers Club™ with his twin brother, Alex Howlers, Wolfe has returned to music with a vengeance. During that time, he quietly worked on new music and collaborated with various producers to refine his sound. Now, with Nightfall finally out, Wolfe is showing no signs of slowing down.

The release is accompanied by a merch collection featuring outerwear, headwear, tops, and accessories. "Doing merch drops with my music releases allows me to balance both of my passions for fashion and music," Wolfe shares. This seamless fusion of music and style demonstrates Wolfe’s knack for creating a holistic artistic experience.

Looking ahead, Wolfe plans to release a full-length album and a collaborative project later this year. With his momentum in full swing, fans can expect even more innovative music and captivating visuals in the months to come.

Musical Alchemy

Collaborating with producers Sunrisess and Augury, Francis Wolfe has cooked up something that feels fresh yet nostalgic. The retro synths take you back to electronic music's golden era, while the trap beats keep you firmly planted in today’s hip-hop scene. Tracks flow seamlessly, creating a sonic journey that feels cinematic.

Wolfe himself co-produced the EP, and his fingerprints are all over the meticulous attention to detail. Every track feels purposeful, from the pulsating basslines to the crisp snares that punctuate the melodies. It’s not just music; it’s a sonic aesthetic.

Why You Should Listen

Francis Wolfe’s Nightfall is more than just a collection of songs; it’s a world. In his own words, “I want people to step into my world for a moment and see life from my perspective—navigating uncertainty with conviction and elegance, being a light when the night falls.” And that’s exactly what this EP achieves.

Whether you’re drawn to the slick production, the honest lyricism, or Wolfe’s ability to fuse multiple genres into one cohesive project, Nightfall is a must-listen for anyone who craves innovation in their playlists.

Nightfall has such a unique sound. How did your influences, like Synth Pop and Hyperpop, shape the EP’s production?

I always liked the idea of blending genres. To create an exciting new take on Hip-hop. Everything has been done under the sun, so why not have fun with it? I was exposed to New Order and Daft Punk at a very young age, so I cultivated an appreciation for synths that give a listener a nostalgic feeling. On the same note, I have an infatuation with trap beats. I am not afraid to redefine rap music as we know it. Bouncy drums with heavy bass complement retro synths, creating a synergistic juxtaposition.

How did your time building Howlers Club™ with your twin brother impact your approach to music and creativity?

I took a break from music for a couple of years to work on the brand. I got to experience the ins and outs of running the line, traveling, and making new connections. It was challenging to balance my love for designing clothes and making music. I was waiting for the right time to shift my focus back to music. The 'Nightfall' EP release was accompanied by a merch collection that consists of outerwear, headwear, tops, and accessories. Doing merch drops with my music releases allows me to balance both of my passions for fashion and music.

Your lyrics balance vulnerability and confidence. How do you approach songwriting to achieve that dynamic?

My songwriting is a first-person stream-of-consciousness narrative. My approach with this project was to create poetic anecdotes that explore topics of secret romance, ambition, pretentious flexing, relentless passion, and even faith. I confront love/hate, showcase my taste in luxury fashion, and capture the raw essence of going after my calling.

Co-producing Nightfall must have been a challenge. What’s the most rewarding part of having such creative control?

I had the privilege of getting to work with rising talents Sunrisess and Augury on this project. They create some of the most interesting Synth melodies and chord progressions. Then, we will come in with the drums and 808s. The rewarding part is being able to execute my unique vision. Blending my influences together in a way that I rarely hear.

If listeners could take away just one message from Nightfall, what would you want it to be?

I just want people to step into my world for a moment and see life from my perspective. Navigating uncertainty with conviction and elegance. Being a light when the night falls. With my new project finally out, I have no intention of slowing down or taking any “breaks.” I plan on releasing a full-length album and a collaborative project later this year.
