Welcome back to BuzzMusic Circle The City! What’s the story behind your band? How did the band form?
Since we last spoke, the band made a lineup change, but we now have our main members Kesenia Parent(Vocals/guitar), Harold Collins (lead guitar) Nathan Yeadon(Bass) and Jesse Mootrey (Drums). Good timing brought us together
What's the music scene like in Sarnia, Ontario?
It has its obstacles, but it’s steadily growing. It’s always important to touch base with our hometown.
You have a new EP coming this year titled 'Rude Muse'. What can we expect from this album?
A swift kick to the throat! Songs that’ll make you dance and get lost for a little bit.
We really enjoyed your single “Gone Crazy”. How would you describe your creative process behind this song? How does each member contribute to the creation process?
Funny enough, it was a happy accident that we all really loved. The beauty of this band is, we all mesh our playing styles and influences really well, we put our own spin on everything and then get together work it out.
What inspired you to write "Gone Crazy"?
Musically, it was a vibe that started with a great riff and started to build off that. We wanted to create an atmosphere with a lot of layers.
Kess: I was sitting on a friend's porch in downtown Sarnia, listening to Riley's (original vocalist)Chemically Imbalanced lyrics(another song we have). I took inspiration from her words, and just kinda flooded the feeling Chemically Imbalanced gave me into Gone Crazy. I made up a story of a love between two people that is always crazy, whether it's good or not. The song is meant to shed light on recognizing red flags and manipulation. The singer is convinced by the other person that all the problems in their lives is because they have Gone Crazy. The singer realized through the progression of the song that they have been loving someone who has not loved them for quite some time.
What are you looking forward to the most out of this year in 2020? What can we expect to see from you?
Playing, we put on a kick-ass live show!
Also releasing music and getting into as many earholes as possible! 2020 is shaping up to be a great year.
