Making his name known out of Seattle, Washington, Jeffrey Marley is a 24-year old rapper and up and coming recording artist. Perfecting his craft from a young age, making music has always been in Jeffrey’s DNA. Inspired by artists like Lil Wayne, Kid Cudi, Tupac, Jay Z, and OutKast, Jeffrey Marley purs his own flair on every track he creates. As we patiently wait for Jeffrey Marley to drop his brand new single “Havoc”, we went through his impressive musical repertoire of the year. This year, Jeffrey Marley managed to drop four impressive singles. “Dr. Marley” is an easy favorite for me personally just based on the heavy backbeat and Jeffrey’s flawless flow. Previously featured on BuzzMusic, we also thoroughly enjoyed his track “Cursed”. “Who Is You” ft Andre Infamous is a gritty hip-hop anthem that showcases Jeffrey’s incredible versatility as an artist. He was also featured on Andre Infamous’ track “Right Now”, and still has more on the way! “All I See Is Red” is another collaborative track and yet another impressive release to solidify Jeffrey Marley’s sound. His intensity and swagger drive his tracks in an appealing way, reminding you there’s a musical connection at the heart of Jeffrey’s work and his reasons for making pure bangers. Welcome back to BuzzMusic Jeffrey! It’s such a pleasure to be catching up with you! You’ve had an impressive year, to say the least. What accomplishment are you most proud of thus far?
My biggest accomplishment so far would be being able to sell my records thru all streaming platforms Finally getting my music to listeners digitally.
What single release this year would you recommend to a first-time listener and why?
If you're a first-time listener I recommend the song cursed it’s a great listen to. The flow and the bars are on point.
Let's talk about the features you’ve done with Andre! "Who Is You" is a dope track! How did the collaboration first come to fruition?
The track who is you came together randomly. I was in the studio with my brother and we heard the beat he started chanting the chorus and my producer started to sing along and from there we just created an amazing track.
Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your song “Dr. Marley”?
lil Wayne. I went to the booth hungry after I heard the beat and decided to create dr Marley after the song dr carter by Wayne. I had to match his intensity and wordplay in a newer way with a futuristic flow and that drove me to create this record.
Thank you so much for talking with us about your new projects and the creative process. How do you set yourself apart from other hip-hop artists today? What's the next move for you artistically?
I’m different from most artists today I like to write everything I say. I walk around unwittingly rhyming throughout the day I am music they just make music. My next move is to be announced just watch for my name and send love.
