Welcome to BuzzMusic, Jamie Hansen. We must admit that hearing your rendition of "All I Want For Christmas Is You" immediately pulled us into the Christmas spirit! Did you find yourself full of holiday spirit as you recorded in September with Chuck Alkazian?

I'm so happy to hear that, and thank you for continuing to listen to my music! I usually never listen to Christmas music before December, but this is the one song that can get me amped for the season any time of year. We had so much fun with it.

How long have you two been working together? It seems like he knows what works best for your sound, so what was it like bringing this piece to life together?

Chuck and I met in person in June of this year, and then we recorded again in September. So, it is a fairly new working relationship. He's simply a genius in the studio. I always know I'll be happy with the end product working with Chuck. Covering this song was such a challenge because it is Mariah, after all. We wanted to keep the production as close to the original as possible while also adding my touch with the vocals.

Compared to how you record your original compositions, what differences did you notice when tackling this particular record in the studio?

Simply put, I had to nail it. We couldn't just change a line of the melody if it was difficult to hit that day. We also made the decision to record this last minute, so I had a few hours to practice, which was intimidating. It was definitely a change of pace recording someone else's song, and I think it was a much-needed creative break.

What does Christmas mean to you? What do you hope that your audience can feel when taking in this piece?

To me, Christmas has always been about celebrating Jesus. It is such a joyful time of year spent with family and friends, and it reminds you of what is important in life. I love this song because it is more light-hearted and brings joy to so many people. I hope my version ignites that joy and gets people in the Christmas spirit.

What's next for you?

So much. I absolutely cannot wait for the new year! I am currently putting together music videos for five more singles, and I'm rehearsing for my project following those. I'm so excited for everyone to hear what we've put together!
