Ashliegh Lisset Looks To "Stop the Bullet"

Independent singer-songwriter and Texas native Ashliegh Lisset has always loved music.

She would roam around the house with her iPod, singing along to her favorite artists as a young girl. By the age of fifteen, Ashliegh knew she wanted to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. So she began making trips to write and record in Nashville, Tennessee, determined to follow her dream.

Through all of her triumphs thus far, Ashliegh still maintains her humble, passionate, and kind-hearted nature, stating, "I hope my story will help people overcome obstacles and inspire them to pursue a dream."

The passionate ballad that is her latest single, "Stop the Bullet," has us immersed in all that is Ashliegh Lisset's ability to convey an emotion-filled story. Her impressive vocal range matches the intensity of this record's atmosphere as she cascades luxurious timbres across the canvas, which is this sonic offering.

Performing with empowering ease, the rush that we get as we transition from the tame verses to the roaring chorus just leaves us feasting on the ear candy for quite some time to come. The country-esque quintessence of this song is drenched in compelling pop hues as the memorability factor is upped with the ante.

Collaborating with an impeccable team determined to propel the "Stop the Bullet" vision forward, Ashliegh Lisset credits Liz Rose Music, Eric Legg, Phil Barton, Emily Shackleton, Adam Argyle, and Victoria Banks for assisting her on the final product we now know as a heartfelt masterpiece.

Listening to the quality production elements and dissecting the flames kindled by the lyrical reiteration, we adore this release from Ashliegh Lisset. Cementing herself in an innovative realm for an up-and-coming Nashville sound, we gladly accept the buoyant country fusion that is the angelic sound of Ashliegh Lisset.

Congratulations on the release of your latest single, "Stop the Bullet." You drive your career with such empowering records. Could you please take us into the meaning behind the lyrics of this particular song?

The great thing about this song is that it can mean whatever you want it to mean. For me personally, I think it’s a reminder that words hurt and that we should always be careful about what we say. Words are powerful and I think we all forget that sometimes. What is the story behind the inspiration of this track?

To be quite honest, I’m not entirely sure, as I did not write this. It was written by Emily Shackleton, Phil Barton, Victoria Banks, and Adam Argyle. If I had to take a guess, I would think the song was inspired by the old “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all” motto and I love that. I just knew that once I heard it that I had to record it! What was it like working with such a dedicated team to bring forth "Stop the Bullet"? How did they all assist with the vision?

It was great! I was very specific in what I wanted the song to sound like. I wanted the song to start off slow, and to turn into this dramatic production. I think my producer (Eric Legg) really understood what I wanted, and the musicians added a little bit more flare when it came to the sound, and ended up loving it even more than I already did. Everyone did such a great job, and I’m so thankful that they took the time to understand what it was that I was wanting. What is your mission statement as an artist?

Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your heart on fire, because music is healing.
