Adam Noviello’s Got All The Ingredients For A Good Time On “RECIPE”

Bite into this delicious release.

Described by Mama Alto as “the long-lost love child of Troye Sivan and Lady Gaga,” Adam Noviello has recently made a name for themselves with their bold, genre-defying releases.

By all accounts, a force of nature in the worlds of music and theatre, Noviello’s daring and unapologetic approach to pop music has earned them a loyal following. At all times, true to themselves and their artistic vision, Noviello remains one of the most exciting talents rising in the industry today.

Based out of Naarm (also known as Melbourne), Noviello’s success as a nonbinary singer-songwriter and actor has been inspiring. Having burst onto the scene with their debut single “HERETIC” (which rocketed to #1 on the Australian iTunes Dance Chart in 2022), Noviello has since continued to push the bar higher with each and every release.

After their hit single “SATAN'S FILING MY NAILS” caught the attention of Vogue Australia and MTV Hits, Noviello’s song played throughout Sydney World Pride 2023, bringing Noviello some of the recognition their talent deserved and opening more doors for the rising star.

Noviello’s latest release, “RECIPE,” is a sleek, glossy affair that would be perfect on the runway or dancefloor. Produced by Oscar Sharah, it captivates in multiple ways.

Tongue-in-cheek lyrics like “We came here for sushi, Tabouleh, / Your berry coulis / Not your life story / How do we bake it?” make for fun listening, especially when Noviello’s soaring and enticing vocals are at the helm. Add in an instrumental arrangement that seamlessly blends influences of pop, dance, and house, and you have a release that’s guaranteed to sweep you off your feet. Eat up.

With the release of their new single, “RECIPE,” Adam Noviello continues to prove that they’re an unstoppable creative force on the rise.

Welcome to Buzz, Adam Noviello! We loved “RECIPE,” and we wanted to ask! What was the creative process like making this? Hey, fam! Thanks for having me. So, RECIPE came about when I met Sam Huybregts (YES HOMO). Sam and I connected via a mutual friend, and he reached out to me because he wanted to collaborate. We met up for a coffee, and literally that afternoon, we were in the studio. The song was finished that very day! Creatively, we connected very quickly, but I honestly just adored him as a person! It was so effortless and easy. Fast forward to today, and RECIPE is out for all to dance to! Sam and I are good friends now and are working on more music together, so stay tuned!

What’s your fondest music-related memory?

Oooo, tough question. I have so many! Imma give you a couple. The greatest live music experience of my life to this day is seeing Nile Rogers and Chic. World class. The most exciting, slick, fun, brilliant set I've ever witnessed. On a personal level, one of the first gigs I went to as a teenager was Florence + the Machine at Festival Hall. I viscerally remember hearing her sing and being so captivated by how she jumped around on stage, belting her face off. It may or may not have inspired me to want to do the same...

What’s your biggest source of motivation when you make your music, and as an extension of that, what does music mean to you?  For me, it's all about what I want my audience to feel from the music I am working on. RECIPE, for example, was to make people horny and happy. I wanted a song that just got people moving and made folks want to dance and feel sexy. Because that is what music is to me! I put on my favorite artists, my favorite albums, and my current obsessions because they make me feel a certain way. Music inspires me, excites me, and supports me.

What do you think is the most important quality for a musician to have?

Authenticity. Whether it's a silly bop like RECIPE or a more vulnerable soul-bearing track, I think the greatest musicians have a deep clarity of who they are and what they're trying to say with their tunes. This is what I aspire to be in all art that I make. Every lyric, every sound, and every visual is coming from a place within me that is true and honest. Which can be scary, depending on the project, but that's the place where I think magic is made.

What’s next for Adam Noviello?

The next year is going to be BUSYYY. I have more music coming, I am playing a headline show at The Toff in Melbourne on September 28th and I have a bunch of other live shows being announced soon. To my fans, I honestly just have to say thank you! The love I and my music have been shown has been nothing short of incredible. I'm truly grateful.
