Ace Wild Is Untouchable On His Gripping New Release “Something Else”

The Wisconsin emcee continues to level up on this catchy new offering.

In a musical world faced with constant upheaval, change, and evolution, artists who can maintain a consistent message while continuing their artistic evolution are increasingly rare.

Rapper, artist, and trailblazer Ace Wild has managed to walk this delicate line. Although he’s continued to evolve and push his artistry to greater heights since dropping his debut album “Fresh Start” to immediate acclaim, he’s managed to do so while maintaining the transparency that initially endeared him to fans. Wild wears his heart on his sleeves, and with his burning passion for music and penchant for connecting with fans on a deep level, this talented artist continues to capture the imaginations of audiences everywhere.

Originally from Wisconsin, Wild’s introduction to music was, by his admission, rocky at first. He learned to produce first, building his skills before slowly expanding into vocal roles. Fast forward a few years, and he’s opened up for standout hip-hop acts like King Iso, Caskey, and Mayday. This electric MC seems to get better and better with time, constantly collaborating with other local artists to push the scene forward as a whole. Fully independent after founding his brand, “WILDCARDMAFIA,” He’s continued pushing the limits of his artistry while building hype for his brand, “WILDCARDMAFIA,” and the only direction Wild is going is up.

“Something Else,” one of Wild’s latest releases and the namesake of his “Something Else” EP, sees the versatile emcee continue his journey of artistic progress to dizzying heights. It features booming bass, crisp snares, and a catchy melodic instrumental performance, but Wild’s vocal performance once again steals the show. Lines like “Forget it, I'm different, just something 'bout me I can tell / Like I'm not human in the slightest made from different cells” exudes the confidence of an artist operating at the top of his game and knows it. At the same time, lyrics like “Took some time to find myself, ain’t no longer looking” also testify to his continued growth.

Ace Wild’s latest release, “Something Else,” is the latest stop on his meteoric artistic ascent as he continues to push his limits higher and higher; tap in and stream his new release “Something Else” from the “Something Else” EP, both available on all majour streaming platforms.

It's so exciting to see you continue to level up and put out fire releases! What was the inspiration behind this song?

I appreciate y'all for continuing to tune in! It's been quite the journey the last few years, but I'm blessed to see how much it's grown and continued to move forward.

The biggest inspiration behind this project was my need for more fulfillment. I've dropped the most singles I have this year compared to previous years, but something was missing for me. Due to my new release plan, I had to pull myself out of writing full albums with well-thought-out concepts. So, a quick 15-minute, 5-track project was the way to go.

Since there isn't such an overarching concept to this project, the inspiration for its emotion and lyrics deals with what I felt at the time of creation. Whether it was feeling like I didn't belong, having trust issues, or feeling slept on when it comes to the scene out here. I needed to be aggressive on this.

What was your favorite part of bringing the "Something Else" vision to life?

My favorite part about bringing SOMETHING ELSE to life was the sound. I gave it its title due to needing something else from what I was doing. I followed a formula all year that got boring and didn't truly feel like how I wanted to sound moving forward. How my vocals said to how I rapped and sang on every song felt so right and became something I'm thrilled with. Also, having every single part, which includes the writing, recording, producing, mixing, mastering, and graphics, all done in-house by me, gives that fulfilling factor a whole new energy.

What motivates you to stay on your grind and keep releasing music?

It's all about turning this dream into reality. Since I dropped my full-length album about a year and a half ago, it's been getting crazier along the way. I don't take things for granted regarding the show opportunities, all the artists and fans I've met, and all the friendships I've made since regaining the confidence I knew it would take to keep growing. I've taken a different approach to music and life over the last couple of years. All the changes I've made in my perspectives and habits have brought me far beyond where I thought possible. I want to make an impact on my fans the same way my idols did for me. So, whatever it is, I must do to improve myself and my creativity to keep inspiring others is a no-brainer.

What would you want it to be if your listeners could take one thing away from your music?

Don't be afraid to be yourself, but don't be afraid of change. The only way you can improve your life is if YOU decide to. Drugs, alcohol, and no plan made my life a living hell for longer than I anticipated. I focus all that energy on telling my story to help others who have followed a similar path. If there's anything at all I want people to take from the music I make, it's that you're not alone in the struggle, but finding improvement comes from within.

What's next for Ace Wild? Can we expect to hear more new music soon, and is there anything you want to say to your fans?

What's next is even more craziness. I've got an official website on the way, tons of merch shows getting booked monthly, two collab projects, music videos, and many more singles that'll surprise some people. Next month will be a follow-up from the first installment of one of my series of tracks that I do specifically for my brand and fans, illuminating what we're trying to do. If there's one thing I have to say to my fans, it's that I love every one of you. You're the best fans in the world, the loyalty is unmatched, and we're about to get to the levels we've always dreamed of. It's WILDCARDMAFIA for life!
