Brother. is an up and coming indie alternative rock band from Provo, Utah. The band consists of Chuck Emery, Tyler Gooch, Erika Goodwin and Nathan Standage. They've got trippy soundscapes, heavy harmonies, groovy bass lines and catchy passionate choruses, perfect for today's day and age. All this is evident in their newest single “Without It”. It is kind of hard to truly pinpoint but their sound has elements for all kinds of listeners. Their more modern elements sound similar to bands like MGMT, Tame Impala, The Beaches, Arctic Monkeys and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes. Their older influences sound similar to bands like The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, J Mascis + The Fog, Marcy Playground and Hole.
The best is yet to come for this band from Utah. They are bursting with a youthful spirit and a juxtaposed slacker energy perfectly fitting for this generation, highlighted well in "Without It". They have got all the potential in the world to achieve their dreams and play shows all across North America and beyond. Brother. is here to make a statement and are not planning to go away any time soon. Hopefully, Brother. can keep this momentum going.

Hello and welcome to BuzzMusic! Thank you for taking the time to answer some questions. Can you tell our readers about yourselves and how Brother formed?
Howdy! Brother. was originally a 3 piece folk band. As we gained a larger following and began playing bigger shows we shifted gears to a now 4 piece Indie rock band. We have been playing as the 4 piece for about 3 years now.
Congratulations on your new song "Without It", can you tell us the meaning and inspiration behind it?
Thank you! "Without It" was taken with a very different writing approach than our older material. "Without It" is based on the superhero The Flash and his arch nemesis the Reverse Flash and their relationship. It's about wanting to kill your enemy but you also need that enemy to live. It's a cool story. Look it up.
How is this release different than songs you've released in the past?
We released our first music video with "Without It", directed by True Demille. It plays off of time travel (big part of the Flash series) and it's all done in one continuous shot.
What/who are some of the key influences your band channels their creativity from?
Vintage sounds. It seems like everything back in the day grooved. We channel a lot of that with in our new music. Channel the groove. Some other influences come from new gear and experimental recording techniques.
What's next for Brother through 2019? We can't wait to hear what's next!
We have done some really cool things this year but we have another music video for our song "Greys" coming out and we should have a new single out from our next album "Volume II" out before the years end.
